The U.S. Green Building Council has created the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System as a guide for developers to change the way buildings are designed, constructed, operated and maintained. LEED buildings use energy, water, materials and land more efficiently and effectively and provide healthier environments for working, learning and living. The Council also recommends that tenants create policies and take steps towards a greener and more sustainable future. .........
